Artist and peacebuilder Santiago Andrés Torres has achieved several important merits in his artistic career.

As an active artist, he is now directing the newly opened Gallery at Aurora Espacios Conscientes, in Bogotá, acting also as a curator for the gallery.

In 2020 - 2021 he was selected by the Icelandic Artists Society (SIM) to carry out an artistic residency in Reykjavik, and was chosen to represent Colombia in an exhibition in collaboration with the University of Tokyo in the Japanese capital, in 2021.

In 2019, his work was acquired by the Pereira Art Museum, thus becoming part of its permanent collection.

He was awarded the Artbo Tutor 2019 scholarship from the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.

The artist has exhibited internationally in Berlin (2018) and Budapest (2019), and in Colombia he has done so at the Pereira Art Museum (2020), at the Espacio Continuo Gallery (2020), at the Fundación Corazón Verde (2019) , at Galería Casa Hoffman (2020), at Casa Ducuara (2020) and Galería Arcot (2018), and currently, at Galería Culto (2020).

His research on fractal thought and social and ecological theory comes from his travels through America, Europe and Asia, the places where he lived, and more than 10 years of working with indigenous and rural communities in Colombia, Peru, Mexico and Ecuador, in which identified the direct relationship between the conscious arbitrariness of physical (ex: urban-rural) and cultural limits, and the consequent ecological and social exclusion and violence.

His knowledge of social and ecological theory comes from his studies in Social and Political Science, Rural Development, International Relations, in U Complutense of Madrid, Université de la Sorbonne (Paris), and Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá).
